Question Interesting problem

Hey guys and gals,

A co-worker of mine just spent basically the whole month of august and september at the Hilton Houston NASA Clear Lake. Here is the problem there was a guy with the same first name and practically the same last name there. After returning from the trip he realized this mistake and tried to contact someone at hilton and they said there was nothing they could do (the man wants his points since work through him in a hotel for 2 months).

An additional piece of information is that they did charge my co-worker's CC but credited the other guy his points since the name/address on the receipt is the other gentleman.

Is there anything my co-worker can do? Thanks

There are published rules for submission for missing points credit:

If a Member believes he or she did not receive the correct point credit(s) and/or miles for hotel stays, he or she must submit a written request for such credit(s) to the nearest Hilton Reservations and Customer Care office, together with a legible copy of the Member's hotel folio. Failure to supply the adequate and unaltered documentation may result in denial of such point credit or miles. For the Member's protection, all hotel travel documentation should be retained by the Member until the point credit has appeared on his or her HHonors statement. Requests must be received at Hilton Reservations and Customer Care within six months from the date of activity.

The presence of another guest with a similar name is irrelevant.

Contact Customer Service with your friend's HH number and other details. Should be straight forward.

I dont think this is going to be straight forward as the other gentleman's name is on the hotel folio.

It's their stupid mistake - and they need to clear it up. Granted, it may take some work to do that, but that should be lots of points (and nights credit). If your colleague is Diamond, I'd probably start with the Diamond desk - and be sure to be armed with all the pertinent data.
