Adding CDP code mid-way through rental
Hi all, I searched the forums for a while but didn't see this question brought up.
I am midway though my first rental with Hertz, and when I initiated the rental I did not have a Hertz Gold membership, nor did I know my company's CDP. The rep (who was clearly new) told me not to worry, I can add those at any time during the rental.
Later, I signed up for Hertz Gold and found the CDP. When I tried to add them to my reservation, the Hertz Gold number was added no problem but they said I cannot add the CDP after the rental has started. I've called the worldwide reservations 1-800 # (at the suggestion of the service rep) but haven't received a return call as they promised.
Have any of you had experience with this issue, and what advice do you have for getting the CDP added? I plan to rent this vehicle non-stop for another 5 months. It's been one month so far and the bill is currently ~$4200 when it should be ~$1800 with the CDP added (this is a direct comparison to a coworker who rented the same car for the same duration, but applied the CDP at the start).
Thanks in advance all!

The CDP is fundamental for pricing, terms and conditions. You can't honestly expect to add that in the middle of a rental, as you are effectively trying to change a contract after it has been agreed.
Your only solution - and it sounds like it is worth doing if you are keeping a car for 5 months - is to terminate your current rental and make a new reservation using the CDP.

It depends how the booking was made, if online / on phone then probably not, if it was a walk in booking then you could say the cdp has not been added and call the branch and see what they can do. I would suggest you might need to close the rental early and then open it again with the cdp.
