I'm also curious as to the airport...please advise. It's refreshing to see that Hertz is upping their game as far as Premium's (G) go. The infinitis are a perfect premium vehicle, like the Volvos.

I posted the details it in the Gold Upgrade thread (long story). It was in SFO and took a lot of luck and negotiating. BTW, it is a G37x as I just figured out and not an M37 though both are close cousins so to say. My originally assigned car was a Cadillac SRX. No Camry's or Altima's or any car below Premium was anywhere to be found.

How are you expecting an upgrade. The maximum upgrade generally is *to* Premium (G)

I noticed some of that last night when rebooking my reservation in SLC for Saturday night on the mobile app... bon soir de Paris! (and that's why I haven't updated it lately... unless you want me to start listing Citroëns and stuff ). I'm off to Barcelona tomorrow night, and then home and SLC on Saturday. Saw a Hertz van the other day! I sure have my work cut out for me when I get back though. Sucks about the Maxima though. RIP the Town Car, end of an era. Glad to see they have an accurate image of the current model year Escape

I really want to find one of those laminated vehicle guides they have at the desks, but a new/current one. The last one IIRC was printed in February or July of this year (2012). I'm curious to see if my hunch about H (Premier Premium) being phased out (or H and I officially being linked) is right.

^ In nearly all cases, the maximum upgrade "guaranteed" by a CDP or PC benefit is to a PCAR (i.e. they're not obligated to give you anything higher than a G). If you book a PCAR and use an upgrade code... you can expect a PCAR.

Now the sample car is quoted as a Chrysler 300, I assume that means Hertz has actually bought some? I think I've only seen one on fleet since the model change (and none for years before that). They seem to have a few Chargers, but they are generally graded F or YF.

Wonder if they will buy any Dodge Darts, too? I think it is quite a smart looking car, but hear it is not selling well, so that sounds like a prime candidate for "doing a deal" and getting them in the rental fleets.

You get put in a car that is not premium. Either an upgrade (or not). Collection cars generally would be seen by Hertz as an upgrade.

Got the bill when I dropped off the car at LAS () and it is classified as G4. Nice ride with all-wheel drive.

Is this a standard US policy? Through my UK Amex Platinum it states that, subject to availability, there is a one class upgrade which does not include concession sites or Prestige vehicles. Saying that I have failed to receive an upgrade previously.

I am booking a car for Las Vegas and thinking of booking Premium with a hope of receiving a Luxury car - I would be quite happy with a Premium but I am not sure I want to pay the additional 25%. I arrive on a flight late at night so will stay at an airport hotel and pick the car up in the morning as previous problems have arisen from collecting cars from hotels with limited car choices. Does anyone know what the LAS Hertz facility is like and the upgrade chances?

Me too... last night I was assigned an Accent on a CCAR reservation Took a Mustang CV from Gold Choice though since the gold booth agent said he'd let me keep my rate Key tag on that says W. What's beyond me though is how a 2013 Mustang CV already has 25k miles on it.
