When did the Mazda 6 take the place of Impala for the default full size 4 door FCAR? It's coming up on a reservation made about about ten days ago, which originally showed Impala as the default.

Does this mean that Impalas are being removed from the fleet? The trunk on the Impala is huge with lots of space for bags and gear.

When I was in PHX, I recieved a 2011 Impala with 12,000, sirus & neverlost when I booked full size with neverlost. I had a mechincal problem the next day (low tire pressure showed up for back left tire), so I called and exchanged it. When I got back to the airport, they gave me an option of taking a Camry or an Altima, so I choose the Altima. Only had 800 miles on it

Engines

Does anyone know what engines Hertz has in their SUVs (Yukon/Tahoe)?

They'd get them with the I4 from the Aveo if they could, if that answers your question.

The standard - and only - engine in a MY2011 U.S. non-hybrid Tahoe is the 5.3L V-8.

I find the categories a little strange.

Premium:
Mercury doesn't exist anymore. Why advertise a brand that no more exist? Or did I miss something? Mercury doesn't exist anymore, right?

Luxury:
Production for Cadillac DTS and Lincoln Towncar will stop this summer, right? How about the Cadillac STS? So again models that are soon to be off the market. Nothing shiny about an outdated car. Alternative Lincoln MKZ? That for me is a class down. Especially if you consider the price tag of that car. Now Lincoln MKS that would absolutely be the right category in my eyes. To Hertz this is the far more expensive Prestige category that you can't even get at all locations. Why is the Lincoln MKS Prestige and not Luxury? The price tag of the MKS is still below Cadillac STS, DTS and Lincoln Towncar.

The Mercury Grand Marquis, Lincoln Town Car, and Ford Police Interceptor ended production last year. For better or for worse, there's no replacement for them on the market.

I find them to be big, clumsy, and outdated, but if Hertz rented an Ariel Atom with satellite radio I'd be there.

The "Prestige" category is for when make and model matter; I don't want to roll the dice between a Lincoln Town Car, Cadillac DTS, or Infiniti G37, because only one of those is something I enjoy, and it's worth a price premium to get what I want.

To me it seems the Cadillac DTS is basically a facelifted 2000 Cadillac de Ville. The Lincoln Town Car is on the market since 1998. You probably get more modern rental cars on Cuba.

I think these two cars do not belong in a modern rental car fleet anymore.

I find them to be big, clumsy, and outdated,
I couldn't agree more.

If Luxury class means I get any car from the prestige line but just don't know which one it would be perfectly fine for me. But Cadillac DTS, STS, CTS or Lincoln Town Car are not listed so I am afraid it is a total different class.

DTS = deVille Touring Sedan
STS = Seville Touring Sedan
CTS = Catera Touring Sedan

The CTS is the one that sees most of the love and design updates.

I read that the Cadillac XTS will replace both DTS and STS. If that is true then it makes sense that the CTS gets most of the love and design updates.
