If erlying on the Amex insurance be aware that the coverage varies - depends on which country issued the card.
For my (UK card issue) coverage, the Amex cover does work for any driver but it ONLY works if that driver is specifically documented on the rental agreement. The blanket "spouse / domestic partner covered" may be OK as far as Hertz are concerned but it is not sufficient for Amex UK coverage.
Always worth reading the small print for the card / policy you hold.
