Sources for Ni'ihau Shell Bracelets

I have read a couple guidebook recommendations for the Hawaiian Trading Post shop, but does anyone have any suggestions or comments on finding the best shop to buy genuine Ni'ihau shell bracelets on Kauai? They are usually quite expensive, and I dont't want to leave the quality and authenticity to chance.

i'm thinking the museum shop on rice street for starters and for some education. these are a high ticket item and the more you know the better. after that, you can try all over the island, although i think that the trading post or the hotel shops will charge you double or triple the real value. there are craft shows all over the island that i've heard are good places. once you know what you're doing i think you'll have a far easier time, as with any type of art.

I have one of the chokers. My husband purchased it in Liberty House on Oahu about 7 or 8 years ago. I don't think he paid more than $150 for it, however, I have seen them for far more money. This leads me to believe it's probably a lower grade shell.

I second going to a museum shop. We've purchased some really nice stuff at the Bishop Museum and are certain it's authentic.
