Looks like they may have rethought the no overseas exemptions thing. Wording on the One Oahu site is now: Proof of a US FDA approved or US FDA EUA vaccination (currently Moderna, Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson) administered outside the United States is acceptable for employees and patrons/customers. (bolding mine)

With the new smart health card required for restaurants indicating vaccination status, will Canadians who are doubly vaccinated (with Pfizer or Moderna) will have access to restuarants?

canadian fully vaxxed in the USA travelling yvr-ogg. I think i still need a pcr test? anyone have experience.

No, you do not need a PCR test to exempt you from quarantine in Hawaii if you were vaxxed in the US. You vax card is enough for that.You do need an antigen to enter the US but that’s it. Personal experience over several entries using a US CDC card.

thanks finkface, tried uploading my cdc card to the Hawaii Safe Travels and it said i need to on a domestic flight for the exemption to apply. How did you get over that?

Hmm, I’m not sure I have ever had that error. It shouldn’t make a difference where you are flying from as you are exempt from quarantine because you were vaccinated in the US. Maybe try using the Clear Health Pass instead. I had a hard time validating my vax card for a trip next week (it finally cleared but it took awhile) so I used Clear instead and it exempted me immediately.

good advice Finkface, the Safe Travels US vaccinated quarantine exception is only for domestic flights.

no it didnt, Clear app for Hawaii travel online includes USA airlines, no Air Canada or Westjet options.
