CONSOLIDATED - List of Closed Hawaii Hotels for COVID-19

Several hotels on the islands have closed including the Halekulani and the Vive where we stayed until last week. Is there an updated list of all island hotels that are currently closed?

There was a good Star Advertiser article with this info two days ago. I’ve put it in a Wiki post. Feel free to update.

Thanks as I mentioned the Vive Hotel is not on the list and Hale Koa as well, both in Waikiki.

May be easier to list hotels that are still open. As of March 27, there were only five resort hotels still open on Hawaiʻi island: The Sheraton Kona, Hilton Waikoloa, Fairmont Orchid, Grand Naniloa, and the Hilo Hawaiian.

Just wondering, we have stayed at the Sheraton and seen flight crews staying there. Are the other hotels that are open used by flight crews? Even with the reduction in flights, crews still have to rest before heading back to the mainland.

Your post opens another question for me. Do the flight crews have to remain in their hotel rooms as well under quarantine? I'm guessing yes. That's not a fun gig.

Flight crews are exempt from the quarantine, so long as they are asymptomatic.

One of my favorite hotels, Halekulani, is closing until July 2021. So sad.

There's a list here for Maui County, that's being maintained and updated by the county.

Should have made that decision 2 or 3 months ago. No better time to do this than a period when visitor demand is at an all-time low. Biggest problem might be scheduling the construction crews but there should be plenty of workers available right now.
