Aloha Cleared for Ch. 11 Exit

Judge Faris approved a reorganization that would allow AQ to exit bankruptcy protection as early as Dec. 15. ^

Replace older 737-200s with NEWER 737-200s? The last -200s were made in the mid-late '80s. The thought of flying on 20 year old a/c that will soon become MX heavy versus 30 year old a/c that are already MX heavy isn't appealing.

Replace the 737-700s? With what? Any ideas if they do?

Airplane age is based a lot more on wear & tear (measured in cycles.. 1 cycle = engine start, takeoff, climb, pressurization, landing, shutdown) than mfg date. Maybe they mean finding more -200s with fewer cycles on the airframe...nothing like running 15-45 minute-long flights day in and out to rack up the cycle-count on those tired -200s. Just a thought.

Maybe with Boeing 757's, since that's the largest a/c that can depart SNA(John Wayne) without to much restrictions on it's maximum take-off weight.

Just a thought.
