Flying HA F for the First Time- Longhaul

I just booked a mileage ticket using AA MIA-LAX-SFO-HNL-KIX on HA. Then I saw the seats are only 46" pitch in F? Thats really tight, and they don't look very comfortable for a 9hr flight. Is the bulkhead the recommended seat?

Also this is my first time flying HA. What are there lounges, and amenities like? Is there anything I should know about that a first-time HA flyer should know?

Thanks

Your seats will be reasonably comfortable, as much as a non-flat can be on that length of flight. I usually try for Row 1, as I don't like a seatback intruding on my space. Of course, others like the extra storage space in the foot areas of rows 2 and 3.

The lounges in LA and HNL are simple. No alcohol or food, aside from chips. I've not been to KIX, but their lounge in HND is better stocked with real food and alcohol. There was a shower in the HND lounge, IRRC, but definately none in HNL.

On your flight to/from Japan, you will get slippers, eyes shades, etc. No PJs,

Is there an HA lounge in SFO?

Thanks!

I was able to access the Delta Sky Club in SFO back in January of this year. I asked about lounge access when I checked in. Not sure if it's only for F pax or HA elites, I was on a F tix.

safe travels

HA operates its own lounge in HNL, but it looks like the common room of Third Class from a 1920 passenger liner.

The bulkhead seats do indeed feel more spacious. Still, the seats themselves are rather uncomfortable and I highly recommend that you bring some additional support for your back.

Overall, HA First (or Business to international markets) is simply a regional product, don't expect international Business Class standards in any way.

I have done a pretty elaborate trip report on my flight last fall flying from Las Vegas to Kansai via Honolulu!

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/trip-...n-10-13-a.html

I am not sure why you want to fly this particular routing! I presume it has to do with availability or maybe you want to try out a new airline. Hawaiian Airlines is a nice carrier and the service is pretty good. However it really lacks a proper lounge in HNL (not to mention you have to walk all the way to the Inter-Island terminal), and the seats are okay for a daytime West Coast to Hawaii flights, but beyond that, it is rather uncomfortable. I will advice you to see if there are better options: MIA-ORD/JFK/LAX/SFO-NRT-ITM (Itami - Osaka other airport), or MIA-ORD/LAX/JFK/SFO/YYZ/YVR-HKG-KIX.

Same here in December last year, on an upgraded First Class ticket with no Hawaiian status whatsoever. Best of all we were the only 2 in their for nearly all the time.

Thought it was a really good use of 50K AA miles. Plus there is virtually no availability any other way either. I read your report. I will stick it out.

My routing is MIA-LAX (overnight) LAX-SFO-HNL-KIX. Do I have lounge options in every city, if any?
