I have done a pretty elaborate trip report on my flight last fall flying from Las Vegas to Kansai via Honolulu!

I am not sure why you want to fly this particular routing! I presume it has to do with availability or maybe you want to try out a new airline. Hawaiian Airlines is a nice carrier and the service is pretty good. However it really lacks a proper lounge in HNL (not to mention you have to walk all the way to the Inter-Island terminal), and the seats are okay for a daytime West Coast to Hawaii flights, but beyond that, it is rather uncomfortable. I will advice you to see if there are better options: MIA-ORD/JFK/LAX/SFO-NRT-ITM (Itami - Osaka other airport), or MIA-ORD/LAX/JFK/SFO/YYZ/YVR-HKG-KIX.
