I know there are heterosexual male prostitutes. You can bet there would be homosexual male prostitutes.
Never been to Amsterdam, ashamed to say, and that's about all I know offhand.

Thanks, anonplz. Still, nothing in your link that suggests the existence of men standing in shop windows. However, a very helpful FT'er just sent me a private message, saying that there is a men-for-men prostitution district, similar to the women-for-men prostitution district, near the flower market.

Asa frequent amsterdam traveller i can honestly say it's nothing i've encountered. I'm aware of a bar there that acts almost as a brothel of sorts (keeping in mind there are many of those for women as well) that caters to gay patrons. I think it's "why not", but I've never been.
This is in my opinion is an on topic question..as my Time Out Guide guide covers the red light district and has one of those in box pages on how prostitutes need to be licensed. Gay Travellers like Straight travelers are entitled to the same discussion
That being said with my Co-moderator hat on, we need to ensure this topic doesn't go down hill, and a reminder not to post any sexually explicit links.
Thanks,
Chris

I'm wondering why anyone would need such a service in AMS - unless that's what they're into. There is everything a gay man would want within a block of the red light district - and it isn't necessary to pay for it.

I have never seen "men in windows" in the Amsterdam red-light district.
However, I have seen quite a few numbers strike a pose at the Eagle, if that counts....
I don't think there is a serious need for window shopping in AMS. Sex can be had for free.

IMO, Pinki, this is a perfect post for GBLT, and exactly the kind of thing the forum was created for!
William Higgins is no longer running his brothel but a good stop nonetheless would be Drakes, which is sort of a cross between a bar and a sex shop and has a wealth of information. I've never noticed rentboys in windows, though they are certainly to be had in the station, on the street, and in certain bars.
Normally I think they tend to be patronized by bossy closet cases and busybodies, though, FWIW.

2. Some people like the commercial transaction and that lack of possible attachment.
3. Neither of the above apply to me.

Try Google to find websites that have guides for Gays in Amsterdam.
