New Caledonia v. Tahiti
Partner and I have a week after a family wedding in Canberra to go somewhere before heading home to the US (and will be celebrating a big birthday).
Both New Caledonia and Tahiti have pros and cons from a logistic perspective: New Caledonia = cheaper, easier to get to from Canberra, have to backtrack to Australia to get home; Tahiti = more expensive, have to get to Auckland first to get there, but shorter return to US and can get nonstop to west coast.
Tahiti seems to have reputation as gay friendly, but not a ton about New Caledonia.
Any thoughts?
