Frankfurt connection. How difficult?

How is 1h 25 min for this connection in Frankfurt?
26.07.23 TORONTO - FRANKFURT INT.
M DE 2403 19:50 - 09:50+1 (8:00h)
27.07.23 FRANKFURT INT. - BUCURESTI-OTOPENI/
BUKAREST
Q RO 302 11:15 - 14:40 (2:25h)
What are my options if my Condor flight is delayed?
Thanks.

Are those two separate tickets?

If so, if you arrive late at their gate, Tarom has no obligation to rebook you, and Condor has no obligation to buy you a new ticket either (but if the delay is long enough and for a covered reason, EC261 compensation can help).

My Condor flight into FRA earlier this week was delayed by 1:25 hrs. My two hour buffer to catch my train was barely enough. I would build in a bigger buffer if I were you.

Flights are on the same reservation, I would assume they're on the same ticket?
I made the reservation on Expedia, and the confirmation came from Condor.
I mean, I did NOT book one leg on Condor - YYZ to FRA - and the other on Tarom - FRA- OTP.

Then you should be protected except that Tarom apparently has exactly one flight that day. Lufthansa has two that would work that Condor could rebook you onto. There are some people in the AS forum who seem to have had difficulties getting a misconnect handled properly by Condor, though. The FAs on my flight said that people misconnecting would receive an email upon arrival with rebooking info.

Thank you.
What is the AS forum if I may ask?
I spoke to Condor, they told me to go to Condor Desk n Fra if I miss the connection and they will handle it. How well they will do it, I am skeptical of course, but at least they did not say they wouldn't do it.
Another wierd thing with this booking, they say that because the second flight is with Tarom, I have to do a separate check in for the leg from Fra to Otp. Nevever happened to me before.
Also, one more drawback could be in Frankfurt changing terminals from T1 to T2, and not sure how easy that would be. If you or another person knows this I would appreciate any piece of advice.
Thanks

Alaska Airlines - they are Condors main partner in the US.

Oh, right, Tarom is Skyteam and flies out of T2. There is a fairly long thread (start with the Wiki) in the LH forum that discusses connections in FRA.

https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/luft...kfurt-fra.html

There are also some recent threads in this forum about connections. I personally have never had the pleasure of connecting from T1 to T2, so I dont have any personal experience. There is a SkyTrain between the terminals, but I read here and saw signs at FRA that it is currently not operating. Not sure if there is a bus bridge that lets you remain in the non-Schengen area and connect to T2. Hopefully someone else can advise.

It doesnt surprise me that Condor tells you to check in with Tarom - not uncommon that airlines cant give you boarding passes for partners. When I check in with AS, I generally dont get my Condor (DE) boarding pass and vice versa. But it can be done separately, hopefully online so you are checked in when you get to FRA.

Make sure they check your bags through (if you have any).

Well, after careful consideration I changed the second flight to LH1420 at 2:20 pm, which extends my layover to 4 hrs 30 mins which I believe it's more reasonable and also don't need to do a terminal change. Everything is in T1.
True, I also had to pay an extra 40 euros o top of what I already paid, but in the end it might be worth it. It was not a change fee I was told - reservation being within the last 24 hours - just a difference in the price.
Thanks for the info and advice.

I would say that 40 are well spent.

How was your experience with Condor? I am in same situation like you was. could you check in online or at the terminal in Toronto airport for the second leg of the trip from Frankfurt to Bucharest?

Thanks,

Cristian

My flight is in two weeks. I am not sure how check in will work for the leg Fra-OTP. I hope I could do it the day of the first flight before going to the airport.
I will update here after the flight.
