Best hotel options in Berlin
Looking for a hotel in Berlin for late June... I am aiming for a hotel that is roughly 4*, $200-300 US per night, in an exciting area of town and with an bustling restaurant / lobby scene (similar to a W). I don't have any meaningful hotel status (except for SPG Gold).
Asking here because most of the reviews in the hotel boards focus on perks for elite members, which aren't a concern for me...
Thanks

Bit tough to recommend something, as many hotels are squeezed in tight quarters and don't always bother putting in a big restaurant or bar in a city that is filled with them. That being said, I would check out The Mandala with the accompanying QIU Bar. It's not necessarily in an "exciting" area of town, but it is centrally located for sightseeing and shopping and located adjacent to the S-/U-Bahn that will easily take you to edgier parts of town.

I could definitely recommend the Radisson Blu, close to Aleksander Platz if you are interested in a spectacular lobby. There is a huge cylinder formed fish tank in the lobby and a lift going thru it. I would also ask for a room facing the lobby, since your view will be straight into the tank - waking up and seeing right into an aquarium. Watch out for the divers, who clean the tank though

Berlin isnt too expensive, so for 200 - 300 $ per night (150-220 ) you should even get a 5 star. Exciting area is not so easy. Westin Grand has a good location near Brandenburger Gate, but I dont know it. I normally stay at RC, Adlon or De Rome. The Waldorf Astoria is near Kudamm and brand new. Starts at 205 . Concorde for example is also near by. Some Hotels really seems to ba a steal. Soho House could also be an option, also it`s not my cup of tea....

Not sure how late in June OP was looking at, but the Adlon looks to be very expensive on the 26th and 27th, which is why I ignored that possibility. If the stay doesn't fall under these dates, I would consider it as an option. (Largely unrelated, but it's also the hotel that Michael Jackson dangled his kid out of the window of.)
