"8/5" Bonus Poker — 99.17%, is a great game to look for; especially since you can't hurt yourself too badly by playing BP with JoB strategy (if you don't care to learn all the nuance...) It's also slightly more fun, IMHO. (In the realm of "VP-fun," I'm not a huge fan of video poker, personally....)
Thanks for the tip. I generally stick to JoB as that's the only game I know the (near) perfect strategy for. I usually play VP to secure any TC bonuses I may be close to. According to vpfree Ballys AC has the quarter game at $50/TC, $1-5 at $20 and $10+ at the regular earning rate. For a $10 game that means you get a W2G anytime you get a hand better than a Full House. In Ballys LV it's $25/TC even at a $100 machine.

Do you know how TR handles W2Gs - ie do they let you combine them for a session or do you have to go through the process each hand?

Isn't it also the lowest variance among common video poker games?

I've found them very willing to do session/long-form/aggregate/whatever you want to call them W2Gs in Nevada. No personal experience elsewhere.

I imagine so as variance is based on the square of the payouts.

Thanks. I guess if I were to play a $10 or higher game I should ask first.

Any ideas about what the January Quest for Rewards promotion might look like?

Bigger Quest. More Rewards.

Earn Badges, rewards and chances to win great prizes in our 2018 Quest for Rewards! The more you travel and play, stay, dine and shop - the more chances you will earn to win up to 1 million Reward Credits.

Total Rewards already offers you great ways to earn and redeem credits at nearly 40 resorts and casinos across the United States and Canada. Now you can score even more rewards doing your favorite things – gaming, dining, shopping and more – at multiple Total Rewards hotels and casinos.

Bookmark this page and come back starting January 1, 2018 to opt in and begin tracking your progress.

How it Works

Visit Total Rewards destinations between January 1 and March 31, 2018. Show your Total Rewards card when you reserve your room, play slots and table games, dine or shop.

Earn electronic badges for:

  • Gaming at each property (up to 72 badges):
    • Slots: earn 25 Tier Credits in one promotional day at each property
    • Table Games: earn 25 Tier Credits in one promotional day at each property
    • TIP: You can earn multiple Gaming Badges across different properties in a promotional day, as long as you earn the minimum 25 Tier Credits at each.
  • Entertainment (up to 9 badges):
    • Earn badges in 3 Entertainment categories: hotel, food & beverage and shopping
    • Spend $250 in each category to earn the One-Star Badge
    • Spend $500 in each category to earn the Two-Star Badge
    • Spend $1,000 in each category to earn the Three-Star Badge
    • TIP: Entertainment Badges are based on your combined spend in each category over the length of the promotion. So, you don’t have to spend it all in one day or at one property!

The more badges you earn, the bigger Tier Credit bonus and more drawing entries you receive.

  • Total Rewards members who earn 1 - 54 Badges will get:
    • A bonus of 200 Tier Credits per badge
    • One (1) entry per badge in the Quest for Rewards prize drawing
  • Quest Bonus Level! Total Rewards members who earn 55 - 81 Badges will get:
    • A bonus of 400 Tier Credits per each additional badge
    • Two (2) entries per each additional badge in the Quest for Rewards prize drawing

What You Can Win

At the end of Quest for Rewards, eligible Total Rewards members will automatically be entered in the prize drawing for one of more than 60 prizes that include:
  • 50 Total Rewards status upgrades to Diamond level (through January 31, 2019) or 10,000 Reward Credits
  • 10 awards of 100,000 Reward Credits each
  • Grand prize – a Total Rewards status upgrade to Seven Stars level (through January 31, 2019) or 1,000,000 Reward Credits

Thanks for posting this. Are they going to tell us how many TCs we earn on table games? I can't imagine the floor staff will be looking forward to all the people asking "Did I get my 25 TCs yet?"

If I'm in LV for a week and get 25 TCs in 8 strip casinos each day is that 56 badges?

No, you can only earn one slots/VP badge and one table games badge per property. "earn 25 Tier Credits in one promotional day at each property" only means that, in order to earn the badge, you have to play 25 TCs in one day (as opposed to 10 one day and 15 the next day). It doesn't mean that you earn a badge for /each/ day that you play 25 TCs at the same one casino.

There are 36 distinct TR casinos x 2 each (slots + table games) = the 72 max badges for gaming that they refer to.

Thanks, that makes more sense. I'm heading to LV on Friday and I'll ask about the 25 TCs on table games (I'm a low roller so won't be easy).

Many of the pit bosses/boxes will already be mentally prepared for the table earnings questions. If you're hesitant, just pop your card in the machine afterwards or check in the app. Best thing is to do tables first, then slots/VP. When you change properties, screen shot the home page of the app so you know where you're at.

I'll probably just skip the tables and only work the slots/VP like I did for the recent promotion. Between Vegas and SoCal that is enough of a start for the year.

I asked how long it takes to get 25 TCs at a table game and was told about 1 TC/40-60 minutes per $25 bet depending on the game. I mentioned that can't be right ($100/hand for 10 hours is max 80 TCs?) and they just shrugged.

Yeah, that doesn't sound right unless something has changed. As a data point, around two years ago I played about 2 hours of 3:2 BJ at Bally's LV, betting around $15-20/hand, and earned about 150 tier credits. (It also ruined my rating--the host at checkout was downright rude to me, while sickeningly sweet to the people behind me.)

Thanks maybe they meant 100 TCs - your data point sounds like $25/hand for 8 hours would be around 1k TCs? I think that's the table minimum to get 3/2 BJ these days, if that.
