fuel rewards network (frn) and Harrah's
Shell Fuel has set up a frn (network), allowing one to get discounted Shell gas from shopping at lots of merchants (described at www.fuelrewards.com).
Harrah's Total Rewards is linked into this system. For each 500 Tier Credits earned you get $0.10*/gal discount. (The system has a few caveats, which are described on the website.)
You can pay for your discounted gas with Shell gift cards--these are available as awards from several Harrah's rewards programs.
[On the website, it is noted, that some people have been paying as little as $0.01/gallon for gas.
