Status Match for 2025???

Frontier offered a paid status match program in Sept 2023. Does anyone think that Frontier will offer a status match program for this September or is the airline planning to just capture revenue with cheaper bundle options instead?

typically not until the elite status that wasn't maintained has a chance to expire

I suspect around the time that management sees 'oh we have 70% less elites, maybe we need some of them back'

// glad I mostly got mine renewed before they reduced F9 Credit card status points from 2 points to 1 point per dollar spent.

I sure hope they do it again as I've taken advantage of it the last 2 years in a row.

A dollar a point is definitely a lousy conversion. I get much more value for a 10,000 award point ticket on AA than I do on F9. Frontier needs to figure out how to improve the benefits of their $99 annual fee credit card to retain customers or alot are going to cancel after they get the 50,000 point sign up bonus.

I think that really depends on where you start. AA redemptions are horrible from Denver, not that I'm surprised much. United is rather crappy in redemptions from their hubs so Frontier redemption rates in the end aren't great but not too bad from Denver. Other markets will vary.

Plus the $100 travel credit will keep me around for a while. I got the Frontier CC again after a few years off and for 3k in spending I'm getting 60k miles, a $100 voucher and Gold for next year. Now adding on bags I'll probably never use too. So it's not great as a card but not really bad compared to others either. If you get an airline card it should mean you actually use them because most airline cards are terrible.

It will be hard for anybody to organically qualify. Only big promotion they had was on leap day and I only got 3 of those trips in for 30,000 bonus status miles. Need 4 more of those as I am around 60,000 now.

This isn't exactly a status match.

Are there better options? I've been having a terrible time trying to acquire status miles in 2024 when they changed the structure, after racking them up in 2023. This pays for itself pretty quickly for free bags/boarding if you take enough trips per year.

I'm pretty sure this paid status match the only status match Frontier offers.

I bet they just figure the credit card signups getting Gold for a year with a spend is their Elite driver for the year. Who is really going to spend $500 for it? If the buying Elite process was more transparent Frontier would be boasting about it's value on their credit card ads.

They offered a legit status match last year. You paid $499, showed that you had Gold or whatever on United, and they matched you to Platinum That's a status match.

That one used to match your current level on another airline/hotel/cruise status to a similar Frontier status for a $50-150 application fee, and you could pay an additional $349-500 to get bumped to a higher level like Elite Diamond (100k).

https://www.frontierstatusmatch.com/ - they no longer offer that program, but they claim it's coming back.

But that one you had to have a status on another airline or credit card to match with. This current paid status match is just letting you buy in.

..or hotel. I matched to Platinum because I was Diamond with Wyndham. I really hope that comes back; I'd much rather do the match than just buy in and "only" get gold.

Yeah, there were some additional programs too, like rental car and some casino status matches too. If I recall correctly, there were a couple that were really easy to obtain and essentially a back door to getting Frontier status on the cheap.
