Would Frontier be able to base another plane to ILG to run SJU, STT, maybe LAX, SFO, I doubt Texas would work. The current terminal at ILG I believe has the capacity to add more flights though parking may be a problem.

The fleet is already very tight for this summer, they had to scratch to find aircraft for the CLE expansion.
Everything is now based on the arrival of the A320Neo's - I believe the first is due at the end of next year. They don't want to take out too many long term leases on non-Neo aircraft in the interim and short term leases can be more expensive.
I believe this will be solved - there may be a couple of additional aircraft - but winter is when Apple flying spikes and there may be some other calls for winter flying.
The fleet is still a work in progress from Indigo's perspective, but I guess decisions will be made shortly.
The problem for ILG is that it is "always there" - I doubt too many other airlines will set up shop at ILG anytime soon. With CLE it was a case of striking while the iron of United's de-hubbing was still hot.

Exactly right. Frontier knows they will be the only show in town for as long as they decide to remain at ILG. Which is why I don't see the DRBA putting much more into the facility after completing the already announced improvements.

They have not been very clear about what these permanent improvements at the end of the summer are, their master plan has suggested that they plan to add more parking, larger terminal in 2015 but those plans may have been moved up. Allegiant could maybe fly from ILG to FLL, MYR.

Another factor this winter is Southwest starting all those DCA-MDW flights. BWI-MDW flights is selling for $120 one-way now, I think $20 less than last year. It was $110 or so originally when DCA-MDW was put into the schedule. I don't know if Southwest will curtail IAD-MDW or if it will keep that much capacity to MDW from the WAS airports, and keep low fares on BWI-MDW to fill seats, which might diminish interest from some to use ILG-MDW.
The TTN-MDW fares always seem higher when I check between the two (TTN-MDW and ILG-MDW).

Didn't ILG-MDW go down to 2x weekly during the winter? I know now it's up again during Chicago's peak season with MDT-MDW, and TTN-MDW daily.

TTN-MDW is a case of building the market. When it began (5 x weekly?) there were a lot of low fares and low loads. Now it has built and is daily with higher fares and darn good loads. Same-same TTN-ATL.
I find the whole process - market building from nothing - fascinating, with its few fails (ILG-IAH or TTN-CMH) and as well as it's several successes.
Southwest's IAD-MDW is a whole other ball game and, I'm told, will be one to watch. :-)

All true. ILG-MDW went down to 2 x daily because of reduced winter demand, but that is very common with Frontier's model. Winter - Q1 - has always been the financial pits, which is why they moved into TTN and ILG (and now CLE) to cash in on the lucrative snowbird/Florida market.
Now, ILG-ATL I could see possibility of attempting to be year round, even if not daily, but jointly with TTN-ATL. F9 keeping low fare pressure on PHL-ATL, using ILG-ATL and TTN-ATL, might siphon on PHL-ATL from those that used to use AirTran, while Southwest tries to figure out it's place on the route.
Also weather wise, if it's like 35 degrees in PHL/ILG, 22 in DTW, and 52 in ATL, ATL is worthy for a getaway. It's not quite Florida, but it's the largest market in the Southeast and there is good VFR and events going on. If made close to daily, there would be business pax possibly supporting it.

If DTW went seasonal, plus reduced service at MDW, that could open up some slots for another destination like FLL, UST, MYR, SJU, STT. Then they wouldn't need a second plane to base at ILG which would be hard to find with the Apple flights.

Not unless the second runway open sometime in September 2014. FLL has no more new slots. It's full. They have no gates.

What I like about ILG is how close to the WIL Amtrak Station it is. Easy, cheap cab ride and then a quick run down to Baltimore or DC or up to Phila or NY. I think it's closer to the Amtrak station than TTN is to theirs.

How much was the cab quote? I asked a WIL cab driver and he stated about $23. I've done TRE-TTN on cab for $25 before tip.

On the taxi ride, there are also two bus routes that stop at ILG with the schedules set around arrivals/departures. Pretty sure they go to the Amtrak Station and Rodney Square.

Would you let me know what routes it is because I couldn't find them. I know they used to have a bus route that ran right up to the terminal. But now I cant find it, I thought they stopped but I could be wrong
