I can certainly see why it's viewed as a clever ad campaign, but for some reason it just doesn't appeal to me.
I'm not trying to be "debbie the downer" but these talking animal commercials just seem a little silly to me. My wife (who does not follow this stuff at all) commented to me recently that these spots are "downright stupid." Are they really translating into selling more tickets than they otherwise would?
The name of the game, at least in Milwaukee, is to get the Frontier name out there, so I don't blame them for trying to trying to attract attention by using the animals.
Maybe I'm just stuck in the past...the old Midwest ads seemed to focus more on actual travel.
Perhaps I'm missing the point.

There is a reason why the F9 ad campaign has repeatedly won advertising industry awards.

You don't actually like the AirTran commercials, such as the one where a number of passengers enter the lav for a business conference, or the one where the boss is seen talking with his seatmate, a junior employee? I know they are meant to promote the onboard Wi-Fi, but those commercials are just plain sophomoric.

As for AirTran advertising, I do think their billboards are quite clever. Very creatively written. I have seen almost nothing from F9 along the freeways. In fact, they still have an old "homegrown and growing" ad for Midwest along the airport spur. How long till they update that?

The ads are meant to be funny and cute and I think that becomes a big attraction for families. While obviously not everyone wants screaming children on their flight, a family can often fill 6 seats and when little Julie wants to go to Disney maybe she makes daddy pick the plane with the cute animals.

I spend a great deal of time on the West Coast. Milwaukee clearly has the misfortune of being bombarded by Ads from AirTran, Frontier, and SWA. Good for competition, but a nuisance for television viewers.
In the LAX market you may get to see and a periodic SWA commercial.

Yes I see the humor in the ad and I generally like it but I still think Midwest's ad about the extra leg room and cookies is way better. I also like the back ground music. I guess it is because this ad was directed towards the business traveler. Oh well, I guess Mahoney is gone as a spokesperson too.
