Shops And Diversions At CDG
Most of the time when I am at CDG, it's coming or going with AA in which case I may have lots of free time that I usually spend in the AC. (Occasionally I might be on AF or Swiss in which case I am in a rush.)
Where is the largest concentration of shops at CDG?
Are there other diversions available?

Restaurants at CDG as well
Sorry, Landing Gear, I am not answering your questions but adding to them. In addition to the diversions requested, I am also interested in recommendations for higher-quality sit-down restaurants in CDG or airport hotels. My old Guide Gayot suggested Maxim's but the only Maxim's there seems to be just a bar now.
Is Brasserie Flo the best there is?

To elaborate on my question, There are all sorts of services available at airports around the world such as:
Kloten Airport (ZRH) is a perfect example of this.
I am just trying to find out what unknown things there are at CDG that might be of interest to FT members.
- Golf practice and lessons;
- Movies;
- Massages and even physical therapy;
- Dentistry;
- Libraries;
- Dry Cleaning;
- Hair care, etc.

One of the current problems with non-Schengen to non-Schengen connections in CDG2 is that most facilities are landside. This is going to change substantially this year, with the phased opening of the new satellite, S3, between June and November.

FRA has uh...interesting facilities at its airport.
For CDG, there is a sit down Hippopotamus restaurant with a view over the apron, so you can watch some ground traffic, if that is your thing. It is not super elegant, but the food is not bad and it is a good way to pass the time. You can buy one of the .375 ml bottles of wine and enjoy a little time there.

I've never been to this shopping area very near CDG; however, if I will probably visit it if I ever have a delayed flight or need something to do for a couple of hours. It is the Usines Center at Paris Nord 2. There are over 120 shops (including outlet stores and an Ikea), restaurants, and rest areas (according to the web site). You can get there by taking the RER; less than ten minutes. It is open seven days a week from 10:00 (week ends) or 11:00 (week days) to 7:00 (week days or 8:00 (week ends).

We went there from Paris so I can't address acces from CDG from my experience. However, there's a short bus ride from the RER station to the shopping area, and the bus came every 15 minutes or so on a weekday afternoon. Allowing for the RER train, the bus and going back through security, this is not a trip for a 2 hour layover. My guess is you could take a cab from the airport and back for $10 Euros or so each way, though I didn't do that either so I am guessing oin cost and also on getting a cab back.
