Agreed. But, I've experienced one or two unscrupulous drivers assuming I hadn't known about the flat fare and gone, or tried to, with the meter. Generally, I'll just tell them, flat fare on this side of the river, so don't f-around me.

since my French is not outstanding. I generally when I arrive at Charles de Gaulle have a piece of paper with the name of my hotel and the flat rate on it. And I hand it to the driver. Ive never had a problem doing that.

In the opposite direction — say late night from around Trocadero — I’ve had no problem this year getting rather quick and cheap Bolt rides to take me to CDG. Bolt tends to be cheaper for me than Uber — c. 26-30 euros.

hello...reviving this old thread, does the advice to uber to CDG and taxi from CDG still apply if one is going to clichy? I'm assuming since it's on the other side of the seine, the flat rate doesn't apply? TIA...
to clarify, not place de clichy, but a hotel in clichy.

Bus N140 operates every night, including public holidays, with departures every 30-60 minutes. Average journey time between CDG Airport and Paris-Gare de lEst is 80 minutes. Bus N143 operates every night, including public holidays, with departures every 30-60 minutes...

Clichy is on the same side of the Seine as CDG (right bank), but the taxi flat rate doesnt apply because Clichy is not Paris. For your 1st question, it depends what time you want to do this. If in the morning (between 6 and 10), better to take a taxi as they can use the special lane on a part of A1. Outside this period, it doesnt matter and Uber could be cheaper.

my flight arrives at 10.30, so I won't be out of the airport until after those hours. thanks much for the response!
