Agreed. But, I've experienced one or two unscrupulous drivers assuming I hadn't known about the flat fare and gone, or tried to, with the meter. Generally, I'll just tell them, flat fare on this side of the river, so don't f-around me.
since my French is not outstanding. I generally when I arrive at Charles de Gaulle have a piece of paper with the name of my hotel and the flat rate on it. And I hand it to the driver. I’ve never had a problem doing that.
