France-Belgium border by car - free flowing?

Hi all - does anyone know if it is now possible to cross freely by car between France and Belgium and vice versa ?

French Government website suggests all restrictions now ended from 1 August (which should greatly facilitate our trip in from UK by Eurotunnel) - https://www.diplomatie.gouv.fr/en/co...ions-answered/

However here it seems to suggest France is maintaining Internal Schengen Border checks until October? https://home-affairs.ec.europa.eu/po...der-control_en

We are staying overnight in Lille next Saturday en route to Burgundy, and wanted to take the kids briefly to Ieper to see the Menin Gate on the Sunday morning before heading down south into France.

Does anyone have any first-hand experience?

You won't even notice that you have crossed the border except for slightly different road signs.

I didn't realise there were any land border restrictions still in place, but i'll admit i've not followed it in great detail.
While not very recent, i've traveled back/forth on the A1 several times since last May (2021) with no problems, other than just slowing down at the indicated border. No formalities whatsoever.
Belgian Online Covid checkers on the other hand....
