LHR-CDG with BA, then onto AF with terminal change

Hi,
Interested to experiences of transiting across CDG, specifically 2A to 2F, as I'm about to book LHR-CDG with BA, CDG-BES with AF.

Outbound 13th Nov.
BA0308, LHR-CDG, Arriving 1425 Terminal 2A.
connecting onto
AF7738 CDG-BES, departing 1625 from Terminal 2F.

Return 14th Nov.
AF7733 BES-CDG arriving 1945 Terminal 2F.
connecting onto
BA0329 CDG-LHR departing 2120, Terminal 2A.

Will be 2 tickets as its BA / AF and HBO.

Mate, have you had a look as to where 2F is?

Executive summary: No chance in hell, esp. the return.

Hi Tom, are you speaking from experience? Airside with boarding pass and HBO, it seems an internal train / bus, a walk and security.

CDG airport guide says 45mins 2A-2F and vice versa.

My proposed travel:
Outbound: 2hr connection time.
Return: 1hr 35 connection time.

Alternatively theres a 1 ticket route with AF and 2hr connection on the way out, 1hr 10 on the way back.
In this case its Terminal 2E and 2F.

Yes, experience. The 45 minutes start from when you've reached the terminal. Even slight delays would scupper your onward . The walking time estimates are for landside connections, not the airside bus (which can be quite slow) - so you'll need to re-clear security.

2E to 2F is a lot easier.

I wouldn't do this with two tickets, although I suspect that BA and AF do interline. It's much better to stick with one alliance or partners when you're connecting if at all possible.

Exactly. Do that on all AF. it will save you a lot of hassles. Just for my curiosity, what is HBO ?

Therein lies my challenge - 80 tier points with BA, and an hour 35 return connection. 2F - 2A.

With AF return the connection reduces to 1hr 10mins, terminals 2F - 2E

Hand baggage only. Origin is BA forum jargon when BA's equivalent of Air France "mini"-fares were described as "hand baggage only", usually abbreviated to HBO. Now, BA call these fares "basic" but the abbreviation has stuck among BA forum regulars to describe the factual situation of being without hold baggage.

I think that is an exaggeration. If the flights are on time, that is feasible. Walk from 2A to 2F landside should be in the region of circa 15 mins at a moderately fast pace. Passport control at 2A-C arrival is usually OK as long as time of arrival does not correspond to a long-haul arrival and security at 2A-C departures is usually OK too (and OP should have fast track as BA Gold).

Clearly, there is not heaps of time and if flights are delayed, all bets are off. I would not want to risk it if it was crucial to be on time and could not afford to miss the flight but I would not go as far as saying that we are in "no chance in hell" territory.

Are the direct flights from LON-RNS/NTE plus hire car an option as an alternative? Appreciate the timings may not be as optimal, but it'd certainly be less risky.
