Captain Jason Dahl Scholarship Fund

"In 2002, the Captain Jason Dahl Scholarship Fund was established to provide two deserving aviation students a scholarship grant in Jasonís name. Originally available to students at Dahlís Alma Mater, San Jose State University and Metro State University in Denver where Dahl lived, the program has since been expanded to NATIONAL status as an IRS recognized 501(c)3 non-profit program supported through corporate and individual donations alike."

"Thank You For Your Support! Join us in helping reach our goals! All proceeds go to support our next generation Captains! Your generosity as already helped us award 23 scholarships to date! With your continued help we have an ambitious goal to offer the scholarship nationwide securing over $100,000 in donations."

The Fund has been a project of special interest to Flyertalkers, as so many of us are frequent flyers.

Guys and gals,
I can't tell you what a privilege it is to contribute to this cause.
1) You get to support a scholarship for young aspiring aviators
2) You can win the opportunity to fly in a really cool vintage bird
3) Denny is a really stand-up guy. I have seen him speak and if everyone had his attitude, the world would be a far better place
4) Last year I got a really nice hand-signed thank you note. With a footer pointing out that no scholarship funds were used to send it. Another example of the class and integrity with which this organization is run.

Please give as you can!

Thanks Kurt,

Our President, and Jasons best friend,Capt Dave Dosch sent out the notes. We keep our expenses below 1.7% because most board members are Captains and spend their own money. We really believe in what we are doing and will move The Capt Jason Dahl Scholarship from its 7th ranking in aviation scholarships to number #1 in the coming years.

Tonight we are at $4600.00

Capt. David, Capt. Denny, Kurt,

I wanted to add my +1 on the cards (got the same one last year). I am very happy to be a supporter of the Dahl Scholarship I'll see if I can talk few of my fellows here to join the 'team effort'. $1600 gap is within reach.

Team flyertalk, 頑張ろう! (Do your best!)

Please also consider posting a link on your FaceBook page. I've been successful in encouraging friends to donate that way. The deadline is approaching.

With SanDiego1K's donation we are at $4975. Getting real close to
shcooper01 match challenge of $1625. When we reach $6000 two things happen. shcooper01 puts in his match making the total $7625 and by reaching $6000 we will pick a second winner (+guest)

Just crossed $5000 and we are at $5050. Two more days.

This coming Saturday is the Front Range Birding Festival in Littleton Colorado. It is sponsored by the Front Range Nature Store owned by Capt Tom Bush. Capt Bush and Capt Dahl were best friends and Capt Tom has had this festival for the last 11 years as a fund raiser for the Capt Jason Dahl Scholarship. If you live in the Denver area stop by.

Saturday evening is the Scholarship Awards Dinner and 7 of the 17 scholarship winners will be attending. At the dinner we will have the Stinson Tri-Motor raffle.

The BRT (Brooklyn Reality Tour) made a $200 contribution. Last year and this, money collected over and above expenses has been donated to the fund.

Come on guys, let's reach our goal.
I just added a reminder to this thread... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/commu...l#post20726862 I'm hoping the rest of my gang will help us reach the goal.

Dan
