What’s with the gloves?

What’s with the gloves?

So it’s a lovely fall day in HEL - 16C

And the flight attendant is wearing leather gloves (just for takeoff). And putting them on and off (as she pushes buttons / switches / latches in the galley).

What’s drives this mandate - safety? Simper operating procedures between winter and summer?

Do they do this in furnace hot locations like DOH SIN or LAX?

And will this be a feature when Qantas wet-leases AY planes and crews?

It is part of the uniform and also a safety matter. With gloves you get a firmer grip of handles and they protect your hands from flames and hot surfaces.

If you watch teh safety demo they wear gloves in that.

If you ever pinched your fingers moving a latch (they have bloody sharp edges) and you have gloves at your disposal, you will start using them
