Typical, they want to introduce also some improvements to alleviate the anger but that 450pts is dull foe Visa card as it is useless. Easy to give as it will not incentivise anyone with so little points so it is the easy give-away for AY to implement and costs them nothing for Visa contract as it is a AY internal thing.
It is a lot. Luckily shorter hauls are less and bearable pain
Good that I sniffed all these and burned my pointa almost all, gonna burn the rest somehow before cutoff date

I favor in general the paid bag policies, just because I never use them
so for me easy peasy changes.
But I feel u othersespecially plats lumos with removed heavies, I think silly to reove a perk which can have a big potential differentiation value vs cost (just guessing the use of this perk is not a big money for AY)

I think someone at Finnair misunderstood what heavy bag perk is about. It is not about plats regularly taking 4x 32kg with them free of charge. It is about "peace of mind". Being loyal and buying expensive fares to not be forced to sweat before every trip. Not bringing a scale to weigh bags and so on.
The message is clear - in the future everyone needs to fret before every Finnair trip, because there will be 'gotchas' at the Airport.
This is similar attitude as airlines that charge for boarding passes. Let's monetize people being human.

I have burned +1M AY+ points (or better to say AY minus points after today's announcement) for award bookings this year so far and will stop collecting AY+ points once I pass 5M lifetime points likely next year. Loyalty is a two-way street...

Maybe I will get lifetime status with those 450p Visa points when I am at the boothill so my kids can then attach a card lifetime status on my gravestone lol

If you rely on Finnair onboard portions you might even fit inside the Tumi when time has come!

In the past it was possible to reschedule discounted point award tickets without triggering extra payment. Destination change did trigger rebooking and new costs. This might be the case also here.

This is such a low blow from AY. I was actually planning on making an effort to renew my Platinum status, but then the changes to the onboard service came, and now the changes to AY Plus. The thing is I don't really need to fly with AY, and have other options. Therefore I have today made the the decision to cancel my upcoming Flex bookings, to the total value of EUR 3000. Sure, I have an award booking in J coming up that I will keep as well as around 60-70k points that I need to burn somehow. I'm not saying I won't book AY again in the future if a good offer comes up, but I will not go out of my way to support them.
