Baggage Compensation
I recently was awarded 770 euro compensation for a baggage delay/damage situation.
I was offered a 1100 euro credit as an alternative. One thing that’s not clear (and I’d rather not wait the 3-5 business days it takes FA to reply) is whether the credit can be partially used on separate flights.
Beyond the above query, any reason you’d suggest against taking the credit?
I am TLL based so finding uses for the funds won’t be an issue at all.

Can I ask through which channel, and how long it took, to get a compensation offer.
We had 3 bags delivered 22 hours late and completely wrecked on Jan 22. We have been through “baggage delivery”, “uk reservations” online messaging and even had a meeting with a senior representative in the Plat lounge late March. They have been beyond bad and have wasted time to the extent that over 50 exchanges of correspondence have ensued. It looks like I’m going to have to issue a court claim in The UK but am doing everything to avoid!

Have you considered perhaps making a tweet about it? It’s silly we have to resort to such things but I’ve found it effective.

Thanks for replying. Your experience doesn’t fill me with any confidence they will resolve without recourse to The UK courts. They seem structurally incapable of fulfilling their legal obligations under Montréĺl Convention/ UK CAA/EC(UK)261.
I have reserved my costs several months ago and UK courts are increasingly willing to award such consequential costs etc where companies wilfully obstruct consumer rights.
I would be tempted with an uplift over cash in terms of credits. But they have wasted so much of my time since the original incident that I’m happy to pay the substantial premium QR are charging ex MAN to Asia - especially given the huge increase in flying hours avoiding Russian airspace for the HEL route.
Thanks for The Twitter advice. Will try but suspect that it will just be another evidential nail……
