But I do find it quite funny that the onboard announcements say they will be serving blueberry juice but when you look at the carton they pour it from, one side is in english and it says bilberry juice.

I believe the (current) correct translation is Bilberry due to the name-overlap, but that is a construct to resolve the name conflict.

They are and have always been called "Blue" in local languages like Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, Lithuanian and Scotts. (While they are called "Black" in languages like Finnish, Estonian, Latvian and Russian - and here is another name conflict as black-berries in English are called "Bear-berries" in Swedish, Norwegian and Finnish)

Good call, wouldn't want to accidentally get confusing weird berry in your drink by ordering Napue!

OTOH, taking you Napue straight wlll be on the safe side, as the anglophone world in this case just adopted he Latin name Juniperus communis for the berries inside the liqour.

What’s wrong with juniper and juniper berry? Well, everything, because it’s not a berry at all, just like the banana tree is not a tree at all. But anyway, that’s what it’s called. The juniper in Finland, if you need to be more precise, is called the common juniper.

Nothing wrong with those terms for shorthand use, indeed! I was simply taking intuition's point at face value

I saw this on Tuesday but didn't try it. Contents are the same Marli as before?

You can see the Marli logo on the side of pack.

interesting move, assuming this is just relabeling, so they want to up their brand game with visible nordic kitchen -ware instead of allemans supermarket shelf stuff

The printed content on the side says 10% blueberry. I doubt that this is only for marketing.

AY is "testing" blueberry-juice-less flights. Flew HEL-ARN-HEL today, all they had was water, coffee and tea both ways. FA confirmed this was a "test".
