For AY141 cruising in altitude 37000-41000ft bad weather means what?

Bad weather at crusing altitude... When you have aircraft bouncing around due to turbulence you have to increase the spacing which reduces the capacity of the airway. So adhoc or tempoary slots assigned in that route are cancelled.

It can also means that those airports would be closed to deviations and thus long hauls under ETOPS must find another route.

I don't want to be a pessimist here, but they've extended the closure in short batches ever since it started, and I wouldn't count on the it actually ending on 30MAY.

I know, I'm just trying to un-jinx it. Also, fingers crossed for the new lounge being open then.

Given the latest on-time performances of AY142 I assume the ban is still effective? I wonder if Finnair would be able to rebook me on a new connecting flight already (before that flight would be fully booked). Flying in 11 days time.

Having 1hr exactly connecting time in HEL to catch my flight to Amsterdam, never never gonna make that of course.

Hi, I had the same question earlier as I had the exact same connection to AMS as you. My flight arrived 30/40 minutes late at HEL.
Luckily, there were 20 odd pax for AMS onboard AY142, so before landing the cabin crew showed me the piece of paper saying which flights would wait for connecting passengers. So AMS was on that list. Luckily, because the queues for immigration at HEL were out of a horror movie. It was each for his himself and good luck fighting yourself through it. I did just that and therefore made the connection which otherwise I wouldn't have. Luckily they somehow managed to get my bags on board as well.. All in all it was a very hectic, extremely unpleasant experience which will serve to remind me never booking short connections at HEL anymore.

To answer your question: I asked Finnair customer service twice for this, but they won't rebook you because it's "not certain" you will be delayed or miss your flight.
