That’s a lot more than four flights.
Oh, I only noticed the early April flights.

Crystal ball needed. Cancel right away or wait for upgrades to clear? 8:45 flight time with forced night in HEL awaits me. (CS told me AY is providing hotel)
8:45 in biz for a voucher is pretty good value if cleared. IF not a nightmare.
Waiting for non-cleared is also a waste since ms. got her vacation fixed for these dates and we must fly somewhere. 😌

AY is, perhaps understandably, pretty stingy on upgrades on this route. If flying Y is not an option, I would cancel now and find another destination.

Today’s AY1961 arrived 70 min behind schedule. AY1962 is expected to arrive three hours behind schedule.

But no delays on AY143 to BKK. OH-LTO from LHR going BKK and 2 A333's over night in HEL.

AY has spare machines.

It would make sense to cancel.
Talked to CS and there was 10-ish unsold J-seats left with 2 months to go.
On top of thar I have used two upgrade vouchers that has expired. I hate waste of vouchers 😭.

New arrival time for AY1962 is 01:55 in mmb. So pretty much 3 hours is the new normal.

Do you have any inside info on what AY is planning to do next weekend? App still shows A359 but A330 would definitely make more sense...

I’m flying HEL-DXB 24JAN and DXB-HEL probably 31JAN (waitlisted for 02FEB).

Tonight, AY1962 arrived at 01:05. The flight left an hour delayed and arrived three hours delayed, so it took two hours longer than scheduled.

The revised schedule from February onwards feels rather lax, actually. You'd expect the to be back at 01:30 the latest.

With much longer travel times I hope they will improve the J-cabin service as well as I understand they have done for Y already.

Ay1337/1338 today was switched to A321 from 330, is it due to these Dubai issues or separate technical/financial switch?

Probably only technical issue. Plane was switched to MIA AY007.

It would be ironical to reroute passengers on an airline that still uses Iranian airspace.

Then again, 3 rotations a week are not that much in the grand scheme of the entire Finnair flight schedule. Also a lot of passengers on the affected route are probably chartered. I don't even know how responsibility works in that case between the airline, the travel agent and the passenger?

My boss was supposed to fly to DXB on a canceled Thursday night 32B. He has now been rerouted via LHR on AY/BA.

24JAN is now A330. I managed to get 2A ^

31JAN still showing A350. Anticipating equipment change, I moved from 8L to 8A, as there were no front cabin L seats or 2A/4A/6A available. I guess I'll survive

If he's in J and doesn't care about the longer flight time, then that's not exactly a bad deal. Full J on BA.

I wonder if he's due EC261. AY cancelled less than 14 days in advance (?). A delay is of course not due EC261, but here AY chose not to fly at all, which is a commercial decision.

Unfortunately in Y... But I have just started to teach him about quality travel, ETA for his new BA Silver (OWS) is sometime this Summer

Also he is traveling on Feb 6, so no EC261.
