Enough time for transfer?
Hi,
In Oct, I will be arriving at Rome (CFO) 18:45 via HEL Finnair. Then I need to catch Alitalia flight to Venice departs at 21:30. Do I have more than enough time to go through immigration, collect luggage, walk to whatever terminal I need to go, and check-in? Recently I had to wait in line for over 2 hours before the immigration at Osaka, and nearly missed my flight. Now I am quite worried making international to domestic transfer at any airport.

Mine is single Finnair ticket from bangkok to Rome.

You don't have to worry in HEL. But nothing stops you to try and check your luggage all the way to VCE in BKK. Best case scanario - they can do it. My guess is, though, that in FCO you'll have to collect your luggage and recheck it for the AZ flight to VCE.

A single ticket to Rome is not a single ticket to Venice.
Unless you have no hold luggage (which would be odd coming from BKK), you will have to collect your luggage at FCO, then check it back in at the Alitalia baggage drop, then go through security.
Given that AY and AZ are interline partners, you could request through check-in all the way to VCE at BKK. But in my understanding, Finnair no longer allows this, except for Oneworld carriers, so they will not accept this.

I assume you mean Rome FCO (Fiumicino) airport? CFO is in Brazil and I don't think AY currently flies there 
Assuming everything is on time, you should be fine. No immigration to clear at FCO, just collect luggage, checkin and clear security.

Please note that because of a terminal fire at FCO, things may be somewhat disorganized at the airport, and there's a pretty high risk for delays.
Regarding the airport codes, I agree that they can sometimes be confusing or appear illogical.
Don't worry about your mistake, we all make them. For example, you can go to the Air New Zealand forum and find many posts from people who want to fly to AUK (Alakanuk, Alaska) instead of AKL (Auckland).

The whole question revolves around FCO, not HEL. The only immigration involved will occur at HEL, and OP has not specified how much time there is in between BKK-HEL and HEL-FCO flights.

Not explicitly, but the only option is AY90->AY783, 55 or 60 minutes transfer in HEL.
