This was served onboard a recent business class LHR-HEL flight on the A32B. The chicken was tasty but I could have done without the carrots on the top. The mashed sweet potatoes was sooo good and of course one really appreciates how easy it is to drink the blueberry juice on Finnair. 😎

Snack on HEL-ARN. Cold-smoked salmon in rye bread. I was prepared to almost unedible dry roll, but surprisingly it was tasty and not dry at all. If they just served it on a plate, it would look and feel totally different!

I'll be flying HEL-RIX in J on BT next month. Similar length. I'll report back so we can compare!

It's interesting to observe European carriers serving meals on 238 mile flights while you don't even get a water bottle on a flight under 250 miles in the US.

And in Africa you will get a hot meal with full bar, followed by tax free sales - which will continue throughout landing until the aircraft door is opened, if there are enough customers.

I do miss the good old days of onboard service flying South African Airways for this exact experience.

This was the meal on HEL to MAN on April 12th, departs 16.05. The main is gnocchi with chicken breast and was much nicer than it looks, I ate it all!

What type of sauce this time? An AY specialty is to smother things in sauces (and not the French kind).

Sorry, can’t remember and there was no menu. I think Parmesan may have been involved but probably best to just describe it as a beige sauce!
