I'm sure many others can chip in here.
There are often various deals and promos going on with Fairmont. Travelzoo lists quite a number of them often. Also, FPC's own Great Rates thing is a once a month (or so?) promo featuring great discounts at various hotels. They also run quarterly promos, as in now having their summer sale, etc.
I've never booked through 3rd party sites, and I've been VERY pleased with the rates I'm getting at Fairmont. YMMV though

can fairmont suite upgrade and 2 nights/1 free certs be used if using an award cert?

hi,

i have a handful of fairmont ovation certs, each good for a free night. i also have a free suite upgrade cert, and a buy 2 nights - get 1 free cert..

the obvious question - can i stack these?

so, as an example, for a potential 6 night stay, could i get away with using only 4 ovation certs, and 2 of the "buy 2 nights - get 1 free cert?" all while being upgraded to a suite using the suite upgrade cert?

if this is possible, is it handled through central rez? or would it be settled at the hotel upon checkin/out?

thanks!

You can use the upgrade certs with the Ovations but not the 3rd night free.

If I book a room on a third-party site like expedia, though, will I get credit for a night/stay, or only if I book through fairmont.com? Thanks.

I booked on Expedia for a stay in Dallas in April. When I got to the hotel, I asked if my FPC# was in my folio. I think the clerk said NO, then added it ! I did get night & stay credit. Did I get lucky?

nope. expedia and most other travel site deals do qualify for stay credits but the hotels wont have any information passed to them about you so they dont know you are a FPC member until you get there or if you call ahead to let them know. most discounted prepaid rates do not qualify for airline points though.
