Recap posts are a good excuse to have a bunch of outbound links, helps SEO.

That's not entirely correct.

They are a good excuse for a bunch of INBOUND links. By linking to your OWN content, you are highlighting to Google that these articles are important.

PS. Any thoughts on Travel Codex buying / merging with upgrd.com? The latter is not a site I ever focused on to be honest.

Whoa, that's big news.

I hope the merger trend continues...so I can have less sites to look at telling me how awesome the Chase Ritz Carlton credit card is (while hoping for said conversions to get site owner back with said bank's direct affiliate links), the latest Amex Offer telling me how I can save $10 if I spend $300 or more at a hotel I have thousands of points in, the totally useless weekly summaries, pushing affiliate links with yet another flight "deal" or to purchase miles & points (then ranting about another devaluation), or the endless Southwest and JetBlue sales or...I could go on. Well, at least all these are better than reviews of Delta's sandwiches lol.

Reading points and miles blogs has become tedious and I find days now go by where I don't read any of them...although I do still follow the headlines on social media.

Pretty soon I am going to lose my Thought Leader title. :(

You do, of course realize, that you are actually not required to read any of them, correct? I mean you not only have the option to read "less" of them if the merger trend continues, you actually have the control to read none of them with or without continued mergers.

Regards

I think he realizes that because every several weeks someone comes on here and makes that retort, as if it's a rebuttal to criticism of the poor quality/ dishonesty of blogs. And just as the response has been before: yes, and people who post criticism of Delta (including on FT and BA blogs) can choose not to fly Delta, and people who post criticism of fellow FT members can choose not to read these threads.
Regards.

Actually I recall you seem to swoop in periodically and make some statement to this effect. When asked why you read this forum when its content bothers you so much, you never reply. I guess some people really don't have any sense of irony...

Oh and you do also, of course realize, that gpapadop runs a site whose main theme is reviewing and critiquing miles and points blogs, often humorously. Might as well ask Tosh.0 to stop watching videos from the web.

I see you have taken a 'if you can't beat them join them' approach to your asserted 'blog bashing board.'

Welcome, my friend, to Fantasy Island! ^

Your colleague over at BA just posted about Pills That Will Make Your Poop Glitter. Looks like there is at least one blogger that has a format that deals with s**t.

I open it and it's a click bait article about being click baited. So this is the type of quality articles that deserve the top billing nowadays.

I think we need a few more front page BA blog posts about the Amazon Prime deal today.

I'm wondering if the lack of posts in this thread recently is an indication that Boarding Area is improving or that it's become so awful that we simply don't care anymore.
