I've been to the Moevenpick Bahrain, the Moevenpick Geneva and the Moevenpick Frankfurt-City.

Quite different hotels - the Moevenpick Bahrain almost a luxury hotel, very nice and top service level, nice arabic-style design.

The Moevenpick Geneva is a large airport hotel, but was desperately in need of renovation, 80s-style rooms, but very spacious. Only club rooms were renovated at that time (2006). Maybe standard rooms been renovated meanwhile. Listed as 5star anyway by Swiss classifications.

The Moevenpick Frankfurt is a very new city hotel near the fairgrounds. Very modern design in the rooms, 100% non-smoking hotel. Nice modern hotel, but not luxurious.

I've posted photos here:

- Moevenpick Bahrain

- Moevenpick Geneva

- Moevenpick Frankfurt

It used to be Siemens' former headquarters and still has a flavor of 19th century grandeur: high ceilings, monumental staircases, parquet floor... I stayed there during the Berlin marathon and I would definitely recommend it.

Stayed at this same hotel. I too rate it as a Holiday Inn Express. The restaurant was expensive and the food and service were absolutely horrible!
However, the Povenpick in Beijing was an excellent business hotel, in the class of JW.
