Getting to the beach from Toulouse...

My wife and I decided to take advantage of a great LH offer to Toulouse, leaving this coming Wednesday, July 5th. We looked at the map and thought that since it's reasonably close to both the Atlantic and the Mediterranean, we should be able to get to 'the beach' without too much hassle.

Does anyone have suggestions for what to do and where to go in this area on a week-long holiday? We want to relax and not travel around too much. Are there any nice small or large towns/cities with decent/good beaches no the Mediterranean near Toulouse? Hotel recommendations?

Anyone?

I am a big fan of the Basque Country, and would certainly head down to St Jean de Luz and over the border to San Sebastian (Donostia): a beautiful place and a foodie's paradise!

Thanks! Which is the best way to get to St Jean de Luz and San Sebastian? Rental car? Bus? Train? And what are the costs and time frames?

Our original idea was to take a little side-trip to Andorra for a day or two, so we initially favoured the Mediterranean side, since it looks a lot easie to get to Andorra from there. Does anyone have any suggestions for what to do on that side?

All suggestions welcome...

You could also take the train to Sete. There is through service to Montpelier The Lanquedoc is the undiscovered Provence and Sete overlooks a fabulous oyster raising bay.
