Vienna or Prague??
Hey folks. I am just looking for some quick feedback. I will be going to Budapest on business for the gazillionth time and have a weekend open to explore another city nearby. I narrowed down to either Vienna or Prague.
Anyone have any opinions on which you would take for a 2 day weekend in April?
Thanks in advance!

Spent 1 week in PRG last summer, followed by 4 nights in VIE.
Tough choice.
Prague looks better than Disney. It's a very old European city that managed to stay in tact during the war. Lots to do. I did a trip report on Prague last summer. If I can find it, I'll bump it.
Vienna is a more traditional European city. More like Paris.
If I had a choice I'd go back to PRG.

Personally, I'm with dhammer53 here and would go to Prague. However, it could depend on what your interests are. If you like museums, classical music, coffeehouses and pastry, and a more formal feeling, go to Vienna. If you like history, beautiful old buildings, beer and a great walking-around city, go to Prague. Both the Jewish Quarter and Prague Castle are fascinating. Oh, and they have very good pastries in Prague, too.
P.S. dhammer53's Prague trip report is excellent! ^ I referred to it when I made my trip last September.

I vote for Prague. I like Vienna too but I am biased towards Prague since I lived and worked there for about 6 years.
Vienna is more formal, more grand where Prague is beautiful (with some rough patches) and more of a moving and changing society. If you like Budapest and like the contrast and changes Budapest is going through, I think you would not be disappointed in Prague. Well maybe except for those pesky rip off taxi driver around old town sq...
