Trying to decide between the Mandarin Oriental and the Hotel President Wilson for a stay in Geneva. Anyone have any thoughts?

I stayed at the President Wilson in July and was very happy with it. I will definitely stay there again. Im a Marriott person so, PW was an easy choice for me. It is a bit further to walk from there to the old town (compared to the Mandarin) but not bad at all. There is a bus stop very close (Gautier) that is only minutes away from Gare Cornavin.

If you are more "into shopping" and like the idea of being in the centre of the city plus the possibility to take a tram easily (e.g. to the airport), then the Mandarin is ideally located. If on the other hand you prefer the idea to be "on the lake" and take afternoon or early morning strolls on the water front enjoying the view, your choice should definitely be the PW.

Breakfast at the PW was your fairly standard breakfast buffet. Food was good and the service was excellent. Mine was included in my room rate so I cant comment on price.
