Time needed for transit in IST?

I'm visiting Istanbul and I've already bought my plane ticket JFK-IST. I'm adding a side trip to Bucharest and I'm looking for advice about how close I can cut it in IST.

My return from the side trip to Bucharest into IST on Tarom is scheduled to arrive into IST airport at 9:50 a.m. on a Friday. My return flight to JFK from IST is on Delta and is scheduled to leave that same day at 12:15 p.m., so 2 1/2 hours later.

My question is, is that enough time in between flights? Would I have to go through customs and immigration in IST before getting on my return flight? I might have to pick up checked bags and then re-check them. How tight are things at that airport?

thanks for any advice.

I am flying EWR - IST on United arriving around 12:30 pm. I have a seperate ticket on TK from IST o TIP departing at 4:30 pm.

1. Do I need a visa?
2. Is this enough time?
3. TK lounge an option? Star Gold here.

Thanks for your help.

IST transit to Antalya

I am flying TK from Houston > Istanbul > Antalya this week.

I only have 1.5 hours from when I land in Istanbul to when I need to catch my flight to Antalya.

I already got an e-visa.

1. Do I need to claim my bag in Istanbul?
2. Will 1.5 hours be enough to get on my Antalya flight with immigration (all Turkish Airlines, and assuming there aren't delays)?

Cheers,

2. Yes. You need to exit the international terminal and walk over to domestic.

Well... You need to clear immigration which, depending on the queues, can take anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour. I would run as fast as I can to the immigration counters if I were OP.
