Just in the first lounge awaiting my flight and my name was called. Etihad moved me up to the first class seats! I'm guessing nobody went for the upgrade so they just moved some passengers up, I've been told it will be the usual business class service, but still, what a result!

SYD rotation currently has 77W with F.

I kept recognising the livery on the equipment and thought "I've flown that many times," but dismissed it.

Then I read an article that they are on temporary rotation with F cabins but J service.

Does anyone know how to access the F cabin on these planes? I have a J booking on AUH-SYD in a few days; they aren't selling F - can't request an upgrade but the seat map doesn't show the F seats available for selection either.

I think only A6-ETS remains.

A6-ETK/L/M/N/O/R/S were all delivered in 3-class config.

I think they just move people to the F seats based on status.

Lol they ran it as an F cabin sadly, was fully booked but some no shows meant they offered me an upgrade for close to 90K miles, I politely declined

Good that I did, the aircraft was held for at least 40 mins for pushback as a Local lady was late arriving with her child who had two nannies and the child screamed most of the way, thankfully as I was in 5D rather than 2K I had at least some sound protection - but the fact we were held and then late into London so 200 odd people held for a self important Lady who couldn't be bothered to turn up on time, then we were held for her and her entourage to come through for VIP service at LHR

Noticed my MEL-AUH flight in November has changed to a 77W from the 787. Fingers crossed it changes back before then! Never flown EY J before. Should I stick with 5E/5F? This is on a two class 77W.

Have flown EY J on its A380, 77W, 787 (9 and 10) multiple times from SYD - Europe and return. To be honest, the studio on 787 is great (my pref is always the A380 of course!!) but even with then 77W it's a great flight, service is usually very good and the food / drink is always excellent. Dine on demand is just brilliant and if you drink alcohol, you certainly won't go thirsty on your flight!

5E/5F are good. If you're in a couple, which I assume you are, then middle seats as you have selected are perfect. The only q I have is do you know where the bassinets are? I'm on 787s early next year and I can see that the bassinets are at the back of the J cabin, so I've selected near the front of that cabin. I can't remember where they are on the 77W (have a feeling it's the front).

You're correct, they're at the front.

Travelling MAN-AUH today on A6-ETP and I can confirm that the 777 seats are the Solstys II (Old) Seats feels very retro!! A minimal storage, and not as comfy as 787 or A350/380.

Just received notification that my EY17 to LHR in just over two weeks has changed to a 2-class 77W.

I'm really not keen on the old old seats but the other flight departing around the same time is booked solid, so I suspect I'll have to just grin and bear it.
