nee help with DXB stopover

I am trying to book a single flight in Y from NBO to LHR via DXB. It is a great fare of U$320 and the fare rules state that a free stop over is permitted. I would like to have a day in DXB but when I plan that the fare jumps up to U$2140. I am I missing something. (would like fly the A380)

(I tried it in the advanced menu and in the stopover menu on emirates.com)

My thanks in advance to anyone who can help me out.

I have a similar problem

Trying to book

LHR-MLE with a stopover in DXB

The fare for 2 people in J is 2728.40GBP with no stopover and goes to over 8000GBP with a stopover

I called emirates and they said do it via advanced options. But problem stays.. via ita it comes up as a possibility but not with the A380

need to be in London the 11th but can leave the 8th from NBO

Booked it via expedia.com. Stopover makes the ticket U$20 more expensive as you have departure tax added from DXB.

Interesting, never thought to try that!

Yes I can get what I want at the price I want through Expedia.com.au so looks like I will be booking through there!
