What should be the compensation?
In December I was to fly Emirates BOM-DXB-LHR and Virgin LHR-BOS. Since it was a discounted ticket I paid $150 for Virgin to put me in upgradable class and then used 30K miles for the upgrade and use of lounge at LHR.
Due to Emirates delay I missed LHR-BOS and then they put me in Coach on AA to Boston! Then in BOS my baggage arrived 2 days late. Virgin refunded me only 22.5K miles. So my net loss was 7.5K Miles + $150 + Inconvenience (no lounge at LHR, delayed baggage, delayed flight) + Downgrade (almost a double downgrade since coach Virgin is far better than AA).
I wrote to Emirates asking for $150 and 7.5K miles (and ignored all other stuff). They responded with an offer for 20K Skywards miles.
Is that a fair compensation? Should I even bother with other avenues or just accept the offer.
Thanks!

Take it - EK is usually not very generous in that regard plus it will involve numerous letters/mails from your side which usually take ages to be answered.
With the $ 150,-- claim you will be skating on thin ice anyway. Y is Y and they could argue that you chose a more expensive Y option to have more flexibility or a lesser change-fee.
My 2c.
