Hey an upgrade, oh bum !
Flew MAN - DXB this week, with a 7 hour layover to Singapore. As per my Skywards prefernces I wanted a window seat, but none were available, but I asked anyway, and was waitlisted.
At boarding control 3F was scribbled on my boarding card. whahey, a window seat (maybe?).
No, an aisle seat, but in F, not J. Not to worry, except for 2 things. I was so tired after sitting in the lounge in DXB that I fell immediately asleep (the main idea), bt whn I did wake up it was a non ICE equipped plane. Having been spoiled on all of the EK flights I have been on in the last 3 year, with ICE, I was VERY dissapointed with the non ICE equipment.
Still, the champagne was nicer, seved in proper flutes !!

If I read you correct, you were flying MAN-DXB when you got the upgrade, correct? I am surprised that MAN got a non-ICE 3-class 773 since it has been getting 2-class 77Ws for quite some time. Was it a proper F service or a J service with F seats?
Cheers

Happened to me already a couple of times from MUC to DXB or on the way back. C is always sold out. And me having the Gold Card is always the first to upgrade... but on MUC - DXB there is always old metall, except for one flight a week. Don't know why...
