I'm giving up on Emirates for a while..

I travel business class and the product from the UK is way too variable for my liking. Despite looking up the aircraft type to ensure that I get the one with the better seat & ICE, what I actually end up getting is often quite different.

The other day I was looking forward to catching up on some movies in peace, and ended up enduring a long day flight with a terrible middle seat and the worst ICE system.

I think I'll wait another year...

As long as the 332/343s are around there'll always be the dreadful J and non-ICE IFE and with EK's track record of a/c substitution the situation would most likely remain the same for quite some time.

Add to the fact that the 772s have just all undergone cabin retrofits, there's little doubt that J would not see the new improved J/cl for years to come.

I think once the 773s have been refitted, the situation will be (much) better. Airbus <--> Boeing subtitutions rarely happen in my experience because the seating capacity of the A330/A340 is so much less than the of the B772/B773 planes. If EK has dedicated a 772 on a route, it isn't very likely that it will be switched to a 330. I have seen this sort of change but only on short routes such as DOH-DXB, DXB-KHI and DAM-DXB.

Cheers

....scumballs switched me from a B773 to an A330....I think I've flown on every EK A330 in the fleet.....at least I got to fly on the B773 from DXB-LHR recently...

...too bad it wasn't the -300ER though....

...oddly enough, when I go to Pakistan soon, I won't be flying EK out of LHR...but rather either PK direct or BA to DXB...of course, which will mean I'll probably have to fly EK again (I guess I can take PK)....the LCC's ..no way...not worth the terminal change in DXB....

MH also does DXB-KHI albeit infrequently. If the timings worth out, they are definately worth a try. Other good options if flying BA to the middle east are via AUH (Etihad onwards) via MCT (Thai onwards) or DOH (Qatar Airways onwards.)

Cheers

thanks for the headsup.....^

MH would certainly be worth a try....and I would love to fly EY's B773ER out of AUH..........but I'm still an EK miles junkie..so it very well might have to be EK out of DXB again....

...all of this is predicated on the fact if I don't fly on PK out of LHR....which is 50/50 between PK and BA...

Or else if you're brave enough you can fly MAN-ESB-ISB-KHI on an airblue A321
