i was wondering about this myself, as my wifey has 10,000 which she is not likely to use, but know someone who could make good use of them!

does anyone know?

i looked on the skywards website, it says something about gifting miles, but it seems this is for purchased miles? is this correct or am I understanding it incorrectly?

Unfortunately unlike some other FFP, you can't transfer Skywards miles from one account to another

I am not sure I understand your question completely but:

If Person A has 10,000 miles, they can use those miles for a 10,000 miles award for Person B

If Person A has 10,000 miles and Person B has 10,000 miles they cannot pool miles for a 20,000 miles award.

Cheers
