Problem yesterday on EK202
I'm currently in Dubai after a bit of a problematic flight from JFK.
I got an exit row which I was very pleased about. However, after the meal service (about 90 minutes into the flight), I wanted to get some sleep, so I reclined my seat.
The woman behind me went ballistic, shouting and pushing on my seat. I ignored her for a while, so she then started tapping the back of my head and pushing my head forward. I turned round and told her to stop, at which point she called one of the FA's.
The FA then asked me to move my seat forward, as the woman behind didn't like it! I refused, at which point the FA reached down and pressed the button and moved the seat forward anyway. However, she only moved it a couple on inches, and then walked off. I moved it back as soon as she'd gone
I then had to put up with the woman pushing my seat every now and again through the night. Fortunately, I managed to get around 6 hours of sleep.
I won't be doing the JFK to DXB run again in Y (although I've got the return tomorrow). It's far too crowded.
Cheers,
Rick

Would sure have taught her a lesson!
I would have surely talked to the bursar when the FA put my seat upright (unless they were serving food), if the old hag (who i presume was one) had a problem with you reclining your seat, she should have bought a J or F ticket. Y is cheap, but it has its cons, and she should have been aware of that. Something similar happened to me a while ago, and I had asked the lady that if she wanted space, to buy a J ticket next time. All of us have the same space, so live with it. She kept quiet after that.

I have made the mistake to flying in Y non-stop from JFK-DXB a couple of times. After my last flight I promised myself that I would not go through that experience again. Next time I am going to beg, borrow or steal, so that I can afford a Business class seat!!
Sorry to hear about your horrible experience.

Well, I guess this was a bad experience, but you dont have such a "nice lady" seated behind you all the time, so generally spoken, the Y service on EK should guarantee some hours of sleep.
Take EK 205/206 via HAM next time - its more relaxing.

That's rather unfortunate - I'm surprised that the FA didn't support you. But hey - it could have been worse
How was the flight otherwise? Food, IFE (did it work the whole way?) lounge etc?
Cheers

You should have found yourself an F seat and asked for tea there while the Y pax was being served in your J seat ! Unbelievable !

No F and the flight was completely full.I did. The FA knew that she was in my seat (she had originally talked to us during boarding because we were two under 18 kids travelling alone and so knew that we were in J) but seemed unconcerned.

The food wasn't up to much, but adequate.
The lounge at JFK is awesome. There's a great selection of hot food. I was undecided what to go for, so I had a bit of everything
I managed to get a shower and forced a few glasses of wine down.Cheers,
Rick

Just to follow up on this. After the incident (just before landing), another FA came and asked me to confirm my name. She seemed friendly enough, but I was slightly concerned (not sure why).
Anyway, I've just checked in at DXB, and after a 30 minute wait to check in, I was upgraded to Business
It may be just a coincidence, but maybe the FA report the incident on the outbound flight.
Cheers,
Rick
