I don't think this is true. The MAN-DXB route has been around for about 15 years, and this has recently been upgraded to a 77W. A lot of the new routes tend to start with an A330, and get upgraded if the route is successful.

London Gatwick 330-200

Interesting though about the upgrade on the route. Does this mean that the LGW last flight out to dubai is not that sucessful or do you think it is ripe for an upgrade to a new 77WER ?

Wrong. See post #5. That's where I was seated, and when that seat reclines it's in your lap. It would be fine for premium economy, but a poor imitation of C on many other carriers.

The Emirates website listed it as a 77W on my itinerary. So who knows their planes better, you or Emirates?

What a childish comment. If you'd actually bothered reading this forum to any great extent, you'd know that Emirates regularly switch aircraft type. So, although your itinerary showed a 77W, the plane you actually flew on was almost certainly an older 777-300 - as it didn't have ICE, and had 44" pitch.

Unless of course, Emirates have some 77W's that have the old configuration - in which case I apologise.

Cheers,
Rick

EK changes planes VERY frequently (Very, very frequently actually) except on routes such as DXB-JFK, where specific planes are needed.
