Since EK is leaving DL as a partner at the end of this month. I just tried to book EK in F for two people for a weekend in Feb, Mar, or Apr. Was able to get the one-stop in HAM in early Mar on the 777.

Would like to hear some opinions on the the 777 F cabin, seats and service especially compared to the A345.

We're just trying to burn up some miles and was hoping to experience the A345 F cabin so not sure if we really want to go on the 777 .

what is your exact date in March? IIRC, EK is changing from a 77W to a 345 on the JFKHAMDXB route sometime in March so you may get lucky

Cheers

Thank you Doing some futher research into April - at least for 4/12 & 4/16 it seems that they've switched the aircraft to the 345 for the 1 stop through HAM but the nonstop is then serviced by the 777.

Ok - now I have reservations on hold for these dates and just wanted to confirm that all the 345s have the "cabins" in F hopefully. Thanks!!!

What are the best seats for a couple in F? Should we chose the inner cabins, as I believe that the middle divider can be lowered? Or do we go for cabins with windows?

Yes, they do.

I would take the middle block of seats (row 2 is the best IMHO) as the divider can be lowered. I prefer the side seats, but primarily because they are so private - which isn't good when travelling with someone.

Don't hold me to this, but I *think* that if you take 2 side cabins behind eachother you would be able to see eachother through the side of the plane wall. If you do take the side cabins and you miss eachother, you can also call one another for free on the Emirates telephone

Cheers

Emirates' indecisiveness is rather surprising... it's not a matter of switching between planes that have a similar number of seats - it's a matter of switching between a 12/42/304 (358 total) seat plane and a 12/42/204 (258 total) seat plane.

So EK is basically deciding whether or not it can fill these extra 100 a day ( ) seats on the DXB-HAM-JFK route.

What do you think are the chances of them finally going with a 345 for this route? I'll keep my reservation / award tickets until March or so and then cancel if they're going to keep the 777. Our main reason for this trip is to experience the 345's F cabins.

I'd say its more likely than not - primarily because more pax will want to go nonstop to JFK rather than via HAM. I personally think the nonstop flights will be busier even though the 1 stop also serves DXB-HAM and HAM-JFK pax.

With that being said - it is really a complete tossup because we don't know EK's rationale.

Cheers
